The Board of Governors of Wayne State University and Local 1497 of the American Federation of

State, County and Municipal Employee's Union (AFL-CIO) recognize their moral and legal

responsibilities under Federal, State and Local laws.

The University and the Union recognize the moral principles involved in the area of civil rights and

fair employment practices and have reaffirmed in their Collective Bargaining Agreement their

commitment not to discriminate because of race, creed, color, sex, age or national origin.
